The song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb

And they [a]sang the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
“Great and wonderful and awe-inspiring are Your works [in judgment],
O Lord God, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all];
Righteous and true are Your ways,
O King of the [b]nations! Revelation 15:3

The Lamb here is our Lord Jesus Christ; the ministry of the Lord Jesus and that of Moses are very similar in a number of ways and so the song of Moses and the song of the Lord is a similar song. It is a song of deliverance and salvation.

The song of Moses is a song of deliverance and salvation for Israel but the song of the Lamb is a song of deliverance and salvation for the whole world; all mankind, tongue and race notwithstanding because He is the Lamb that was slain and purchased men unto God
And they sang a new song [of glorious redemption], saying,
“Worthy and deserving are You to take the scroll and to break its seals; for You were slain (sacrificed), and with Your blood You purchased people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. Revelation 5:9

The song of Moses is a shadow of things to come but the song of the Lamb is the real image of the thing that has already come. The song of Moses sings of salvation and deliverance from slavery of Egypt but the song of the Lamb sings of salvation and deliverance from slavery of sin and Satan.

The blood of calf and bulls were the seal for the song of Moses but the Blood of the Lamb without blame sealed the song of the lamb. There is an eternal and once for all sacrifice by the Lamb but a continuous yet imperfect sacrifice for the song of Moses. The song of Moses pacifies the wrath of God but the song of the Lamb wipes away God’s wrath.
